Cooking with Children /Inter-Generational Courses
Fewer things are more satisfying that cooking and eating with loved ones, but doing so in a remarkable kitchen in Italy often produces relished memories that never fade.
Courses with children (versus courses for children)
Children may attend our courses with a parent or parents. Most children come to day versus week-long classes but we have had children as young as 9 for the week. It has always worked out extremely well, especially if the children are in the habit of conversing with adults for extended periods of time.
For day courses, under 5 are free, 5-13 are 95 Euro and over 15 are considered adults.
If attending with teenagers please tell us upon arrival whether we should serve them modest amounts of wine or not. Most parents allow it but the choice is yours.
Inter-generational Cooking
Often the most rewarding courses are those that feature multiple generations in the kitchen (last year we had an extended Australian family, 4 generations laughing and making pasta together (a private class). It remains a high-point of the year for us.
Consider inviting your parents, adult children, grandchildren and siblings. We’ve had remarkable success playing a part in helping estranged parents and adult children reconnect, and the letters and emails of gratitude are not something we ever expected when opening all the years ago!
Bringing family is an unforgettable gift, especially when teaching young people healthy eating habits that will benefit them an entire lifetime. Or bringing older loved ones, perhaps repaying those that first taught you to cook.
